Question 1

I changed my DNS. Why don’t I see the change yet?

Accepted Answer

Every DNS server keeps the old record for a while, a period called the TTL. When it runs out, the server asks again and gets the new value. That is why some servers update at once and others take tens of minutes longer.

Question 2

How long until the DNS change is complete?

Accepted Answer

Usually from a few minutes to a few hours, depending on the TTL you had set before. ChkDNS reads the TTL left on each server and tells you the longest you will have to wait.

Question 3

Does ChkDNS keep the domains I check?

Accepted Answer

No. Statistics only count checks; neither your domain nor your IP address is stored.

Is your domain pointing where it should yet?
